Our public sector client is seeking a User Interface Specialist (10+ years) to develop and deploy business applications using MS Power Platform and UX/UI methodologies

Join a Toronto-based public sector initiative supporting technology modernization and operational improvements within a critical municipal services environment. This role focuses on UX/UI design, application development, workflow automation, and AODA-compliant solutions using the ITM Development Environment and MS Power Platform. The specialist will support multiple queued initiatives while collaborating with business analysts, stakeholders, and application services teams.

Contract, Toronto, Working Hours: EST

Must Haves

Extensive experience with MS Power Platform , Power Apps , Power Automate, Dataverse, and Copilot

Extensive experience implementing software solutions compliant with AODA requirements

Extensive experience applying User-Centered Design (UCD) principles to architecture and UX/UI design

Extensive experience gathering and translating user requirements into prototype design mock-ups using design thinking

University degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice to Have

Microsoft Power Platform Development Certifications

Experience with UX principles including user stories, persona building, and prototype development approaches

Knowledge of Agile software development lifecycles (SDLC) and Agile Scrum methodology





Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex applications using the ITM Development Environment

Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements

Develop and manage application workflows to streamline and automate business processes

Coach and mentor team members on UX/UI development and theories

Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to UX/UI standards

Ensure application development complies with AODA requirements

Review, assess, and resolve technical issues while implementing and documenting solutions
