At 404 Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital, we welcome an experienced full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our Emergency team.
What You Will Do In this role, you will be supporting our Veterinarian and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.
Emergency Clinical Support: Assist our emergency veterinary team with incoming patient triages, exams, and urgent care workflows.
Diagnostic Imaging: Support diagnostic procedures, including taking and processing digital radiographs and assisting with CT scans.
Surgical Assistance: Help prepare surgical suites and assist with patient prep, positioning, and recovery for emergency soft-tissue and life‑saving procedures.
Client Care and Front-of-House Support: Warmly welcome and check in emergency clients, answer incoming phone inquiries with empathy, and assist with billing and discharge steps.
Inpatient Comfort and Care: Provide gentle, compassionate care, enrichment, and monitoring for hospitalized pets throughout their stay.
What You Bring A warm, compassionate heart with exceptional client service skills and a nurturing approach to pet care.
A Veterinary Assistant (VA) certificate or equivalent technical assistance clinical experience is an asset.
The ability to stay calm, gentle, and adaptable under pressure and in quick‑paced medical situations.
A genuine eagerness to learn, grow your clinical skills, and support our veterinary team with daily treatments.
Must have flexibility to work a variety of shifts, which may include nights, overnights, weekends and holidays.
