Purpose of Role:

Reporting to the Executive Director, HR & OE,



the primary purpose of this role is to provide essential corporate human resource services and strategic leadership

Role Accountabilities:

Corporate HR Operations & Leadership: Oversee core corporate HR functions and empower the dedicated team of 4 to deliver full-lifecycle corporate HR services and executive support

HR Process & Digital Maturity: Drive enterprise HRIS strategy (SuccessFactors), process standardization, and system integration to eliminate manual, paper-based processes and support seamless business growth.

Total Rewards & Governance: Oversee competitive, equitable compensation structures, total rewards strategy, pension governance (via the Retirement Committee), and cost-effective benefit programs across corporate and the business units.

Employer Brand & Talent Attraction: Oversee the launch and continuous evolution of Hudbay's employer brand, positioning the organization as the employer of choice among mid-tier mining companies.

Global Internal Mobility: Establish and govern a standardized global mobility framework managing expatriate taxation, visas, immigration, and cross-jurisdictional talent flow.

Strategic Workforce Planning: Participate in designing and assume operational ownership of Hudbay's 10-year dynamic strategic workforce planning model to align talent needs with operational milestones.

KPI Measurement & Compliance: Establish quantitative KPIs across HR initiatives (time-to-fill, adoption, subsystem maturity) while ensuring corporate policies comply with Ontario employment legislation and mitigate enterprise risk.

Qualifications:





5 to 7+ years in a senior HR leadership role with direct accountability for corporate HR operations, total rewards, and team management.

10 to 15 years of progressive human resources experience, ideally within the mining, resource, or heavy industry sectors.

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources

Experience working in a requisite organization workplace

Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide HRIS implementations (preferably SuccessFactors) and global mobility frameworks

Solid knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and compliance principles. Working knowledge of Payroll, SuccessFactors HRIS system, and other SuccessFactors modules

Skills/experience delivering generalized HR services in a global organization

Other skills:

Professional HR designation (i.e. CHRP, CHRL) an advantage

Bilingual candidates (English-Spanish) will be given preference but is not mandatory.

This role is eligible for flexible working arrangements, allowing you to balance remote work with time in the office. Hudbay requires employees to spend roughly half their work to be in office.
