Job Overview
The Distribution Centre Manager will lead and oversee all distribution center operations to ensure the safe, effective, and compliant flow of products from receipt through final delivery to customers. The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence, inventory accuracy, customer satisfaction, employee development, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting the organization's long-term growth objectives. This role serves as a key business partner across Customer Service, Transportation, Supply Chain, Quality, and Compliance functions to ensure seamless execution of distribution operations.

Responsibilities
Operations & Distribution Management

Direct, oversee, and develop all distribution center operations, including receiving, inventory management, storage, order fulfillment, shipping, and returns.

Plan, organize, and monitor workforce allocation, workload distribution, and daily operational activities to achieve inbound, inventory control, and outbound performance goals.

Manage the timely and cost-effective distribution of finished goods to meet customer requirements and service expectations.

Coordinate with transportation providers and carriers to ensure transportation capacity, optimize delivery performance, and maintain efficient shipping operations.

Procure and manage vendors providing services, equipment, and supplies necessary for distribution center operations.

Monitor operational metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, service levels, and cost management.

Inventory Control & Compliance

Ensure inventory accuracy through effective inventory control processes, cycle counts, reconciliations, and system-to-physical inventory validation.

Maintain compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.





Support Customs compliance requirements and ensure adherence to import/export security programs, including CTPAT and related initiatives.

Prepare documentation and provide support for internal and external audits, demonstrating compliance with regulatory and company requirements.

Oversee documentation standards, operational controls, and recordkeeping practices to meet business and compliance requirements.

Lead, coach, develop, and inspire a high-performing distribution center team while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Manage employee performance, workforce planning, scheduling, training, succession planning, and professional development initiatives.

Promote employee engagement and maintain a positive workplace culture focused on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Establish clear performance expectations and ensure team alignment with operational and business objectives.

Strategic Growth & Continuous Improvement

Develop and support distribution center capacity plans to accommodate future business growth and increased operational demands.

Lead initiatives to improve systems, processes, workflows, and documentation standards that enhance operational efficiency and scalability.

Evaluate and manage the acquisition, maintenance, and utilization of equipment to maximize operational effectiveness.

Analyze operational performance and prepare reports that provide management with updates on performance, risks, opportunities, and improvement initiatives.

Drive continuous improvement efforts through data analysis, process optimization, and best practice implementation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Customer Service to prioritize and coordinate product distribution activities that meet customer requirements and service expectations.

Collaborate with Transportation, Supply Chain, Inventory Planning, Quality, and Compliance teams to ensure efficient product flow and issue resolution.

Build and maintain strong relationships across the organization to support strategic initiatives and business objectives.

Support business planning efforts by providing operational insights, capacity recommendations, and growth-related strategies.

Safety & Environmental Responsibility

Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Promote a culture of safety through employee training, hazard identification, risk mitigation, and incident prevention initiatives.

Investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions to minimize future risks and maintain a secure work workplace.





Ensure all hazards are properly identified, documented, and managed in accordance with company and regulatory standards.

Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Minimum 5 years of Distribution Center, Warehouse, or Logistics Management experience.

Demonstrated experience leading and developing diverse teams in a distribution or warehouse environment.

Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory control practices, and distribution operations.

Experience managing operational KPIs, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Working knowledge of transportation management, carrier relationships, and distribution network operations.

Understanding of Customs compliance requirements and CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) programs.

Familiarity with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations and best practices.

Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and warehouse/distribution management technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related discipline.

Professional certifications such as APICS/ASCM (CPIM, CSCP, CLTD), Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent.

Experience leading distribution center expansions, automation projects, or facility growth initiatives.

Demonstrated success implementing process improvements that increase operational efficiency and inventory accuracy.

Experience managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers and transportation partnerships.

Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar enterprise platforms.

Salary Range
The anticipated salary range for candidates working in Laval, Canada, is $100,000-$125,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Fisher & Paykel Healthcare is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
