Job Function:
Perform carpentry and general maintenance duties.

Job Description:

1. Construct, erect, install and repair walls, ceilings, flooring, portables, playground equipment, shelving, etc.

2. Prepare surfaces and apply finishes to shelving, cabinets, etc.

3. Carry out general maintenance duties.

4. Estimate, requisition and/or purchase materials and equipment.

5. Calculate elevations by use of transit.

6. Maintain equipment and machinery.

7. Maintain records and prepare reports as required.

8. May be required to do custodial duties on a temporary basis.

9. Operate a motor vehicle.

10. Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

1. OSSD plus General Carpenter’s Certificate of Qualification.

2. Knowledge of general building maintenance, provincial construction standards andpertinent government regulations.

3. Working from ladders and scaffolds and in confined areas.

4. Reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.

5. Valid driver’s license.

6.



Using a variety of power and hand tools and machines.

7. Communicating effectively and working co-operatively with Board personnel, suppliers andthe general public.
