Controller - Consumer Goods

About the Role A growing consumer goods company is looking for a Controller to join their Markham team. This hands-on role is ideal for a CPA with Big 4 experience who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
You'll bring strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills, while taking a hands-on approach across finance. This is an opportunity to wear multiple hats, work closely with the broader business, and play a key role in supporting continued growth.
Key Responsibilities Own the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Oversee full-cycle accounting, including general ledger, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, expenses, and related accounting activities.
Prepare and oversee monthly financial reporting and management reporting packages.
Develop and maintain global sales and business performance reports.
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process and monitor performance against budget.
Perform financial analysis and develop financial models to support business decisions.




Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.
Support year-end audit and related external reporting requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems, controls, and reporting.
Work cross-functionally with teams across the business to understand financial performance and provide commercial insight.
Take ownership of ad hoc finance initiatives and projects as the business evolves.
Manage and support one direct report.
Qualifications CPA designation is required.
3+ years of Big 4 experience, with at least 1 year at the Senior level or above.
Experience within the consumer goods, retail, pharmaceutical, or technology industries would be ideal.
Robust experience across financial reporting and full-cycle accounting.
Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment with a high degree of ownership.
