Position Overview
Mercedes-Benz Richmond
is currently seeking a motivated andcustomer-focused Assistant Sales Manager to support the leadership ofour Sales team and contribute to the overall success of the dealership.
Reporting to the Sales Manager and working closely with theGeneral Manager, Service Manager, and Parts Manager, the Assistant SalesManager plays a key role in driving sales performance, delivering anexceptional customer experience, and fostering a collaborative, high-performingdealership culture. This role provides hands-on leadership throughout the salesprocess while supporting inventory management, sales operations, customersatisfaction, and team development.
Compensation for this position is commission based.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the Sales Manager in leading andcoordinating the day-to-day sales operations of the dealership
- Promote a positive, collaborative teamenvironment by working closely with Sales, Service, and Parts Management toachieve shared dealership goals
- Participate in and assist with leading daily andmonthly sales meetings as required
- Maintain active involvement in all salesinquiries and ensure consistent execution of effective sales practices
- Engage with customers early in the sales processand provide direction and support to Sales Consultants throughout the customerjourney
- Ensure every customer receives an exceptionaland personalized ownership experience
- Build long-term customer relationships andprofessionally resolve customer issues or concerns related to sales, dealershipoperations, personnel, or products
- Conduct management follow-ups and customercall-backs to support customer satisfaction and maximize closing ratios
- Assist in completing sales transactions bybalancing customer needs with dealership objectives
- Ensure all sales and lease documentation isaccurately completed and compliant with manufacturer policies and applicableregulations
- Support the development and execution ofdealership-specific sales programs, promotions, and special events
- Coordinate regional co-op advertisinginitiatives and assist with the implementation of dealership marketing plans
- Prepare, review, and analyze sales performancereports
- Oversee vehicle inventory coordination, showroomand lot presentation, pricing accuracy, and vehicle cleanliness standards
- Evaluate trade-in vehicles to determinereconditioning, retail, or wholesale placement
- Monitor the reconditioning process to ensurevehicles are prepared efficiently, cost-effectively, and to a high-qualitystandard
- Perform other duties as assigned by dealershipmanagement
Qualifications Required
Education & Licenses
- Valid VSA License (required)
Experience
- Previous experience in the automotive industry,with a strong focus on New and Pre-Owned vehicle sales
- Experience supporting or leading sales teams ina customer-facing environment
- Strong leadership, management, and customerservice skills
- Excellent verbal and written communicationabilities
- Highly organized with exceptional attention todetail
- Self-motivated with the ability to workindependently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills with the abilityto handle and resolve customer concerns in a professional and timely manner
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiplepriorities in a quick-paced environment
