JOB DESCRIPTION

- Waste Management - Properly dispose of trash and recycling materials on a regularly scheduled basis
- Facility Maintenance - Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs, including repairing or replacing damaged fixtures, equipment and furniture, etc.
- Grounds Keeping - Maintain the exterior areas including landscaping, and snow removal.
- Safety Compliance - Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement procedures to prevent accidents or hazards.
- Stocking and Inventory - Managing inventory of cleaning/building supplies and order when needed.
- Emergency Response - be prepared to respond to emergencies such as spills, leaks or other facility-related incidents when necessary.
- Preventative Maintenance - Follow scheduled maintenance plans and perform routine checks to identify potential problems before they arise

Requirements

Grade 10 or equivalent and experience of previous custodian duties.





Knowledge of modern janitorial methods, safety practices, materials and equipment, including the safe use of commercial waxing and buffing machines.

Knowledge of the various detergents, sanitizers, soaps, waxes and cleaning compounds

Very organized and able to multi-task while maintaining efficiency and accuracy

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Explicit Criminal Record Check (required)

Bilingualism (French and English) is required

Assets

First Nations Cultural knowledge

Working with youth in a residential or wellness setting

Valid First Aid and CPR certification

Annual salary $38,902–$51,043.11 plus benefits - Group Insurance, Pension Plan, Personal days, Annual Wellness Dollars & Flexible schedule.
