Senior Data Streaming Engineer (Java, Kafka & GCP)

Pay Rate: $85-$97/hr

Location: Hybrid, Toronto, ON | 2-3 days per week onsite

Your New Company A leading organization is seeking to add one Senior Software Developer to its technology team. The team collaborates closely across Canada, the US, and India in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering modern data streaming and cloud-based solutions.

Your Recent Role

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Data Streaming Engineer with strong Core Java skills, proven expertise in data streaming (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Flink), and hands-on delivery on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You’ll design and build scalable, reliable, real-time data solutions and contribute to production support and incident resolution.

Working hours start at 07:30–08:00 EST to support collaboration with global technology teams.

What You'll Need to Succeed

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain Java-based services and applications.
- Design and implement event-driven architectures and real-time streaming pipelines.
- Build and operate Kafka-based streaming solutions,



including cluster configuration, monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Deliver on GCP using services such as Dataflow, BigQuery, GKE, Cloud Storage, and Terraform.
- Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues; participate in weekly platform support.

Experience

- 8–10 years preferred
