This is an exciting opportunity to join the Proctor’s Office within Student Services, working as part of a team that plays a key role in supporting the student experience and maintaining a safe and respectful University community. This ia a part time position, working 22.5 hours per week (working pattern to be agreed upon appointment).
The Proctor’s Office has a broad and varied remit, encompassing student safety, conduct, and wellbeing. The team works closely with Residential Life, the Students’ Union, local police, local authorities, and other external partners on matters that may impact students and the wider University community.
The successful postholder will be responsible for the professional, efficient, and effective preparation of case files relating to the University’s Disciplinary, Professional Suitability, and Complaints procedures. This will involve compiling comprehensive, high-quality case documentation for disciplinary and professional suitability panels, as well as gathering and collating relevant evidence, including CCTV footage, witness statements, and other supporting information,



to assist senior University staff in making informed decisions.
In addition, the role will involve undertaking a range of high-level administrative duties and acting as an initial point of contact for the Students’ Union, students, and third parties in relation to University procedures. The postholder will ensure that all matters are managed in accordance with procedural requirements and within specified timescales.
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level, or hold an equivalent qualification, and will possess excellent organisational skills and a meticulous eye for detail. They will be able to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism, discretion, and tact, and will have experience working in a busy administrative workplace.
The role is based at the University’s Exton Park campus in Chester, although flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the service.
