Qualifications MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related study area, including laboratory analysis techniques is required
EXPERIENCE:
One year of directly‑related experience preferred
Experience with field plot maintenance, gas sampling, sample preparation is required.
Experience with installation, retrieval and processing of PRS probes is required.
Data processing, analysis, and visualization experience required.
Experience with soil and crop sampling, processing and analysis is required.
Laboratory analysis of soils for pH, EC and particle size distribution is required.
An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, required.
Computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, and Origin are required.
Collection of soil samples using hand probes, required.
Sampling of PRS probes, required.




Setup of controlled experiments for greenhouse gas emission and ammonia volatilization measurement, required.
Data analysis using SAS software, required.
Good physical endurance to work in the field in summer, required.
Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
OTHER JOB RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Manitoba Driver’s license, required.
Key responsibilities Soil and plant sampling and processing for laboratory analysis
Conduct lab, greenhouse, and field work
Soil analysis
Data processing and preparation for analysis
Preparation of tables, graphs and figures for technical reports and journal manuscripts
Other duties as assigned.
