Payroll & Tax Consultant
Responsibilities

Serves as multi-functional Subject Matter Expert in Payroll, Tax, and Garnishments Assists EMS with inquiries and responses

Engages with identification of system issues and requirement setting for enhancements and regulatory changes

Works closely with EMS Internal Partners, Tax Authorities, and Third Parties to identify and consult on regulatory and/or compliance issues

Oversees implementation of SAP Notes, BSI TaxFactory upgrades, and HRSPs with participation in Test planning and execution

Assists with full cycle Quarter End and Year End processes

Conducts research and provides accurate responses to all communications via case management system

Provides research, analysis, and necessary reconciliation to respond to and resolve tax agency notices and amendments within established service level agreements (SLAs)

Prioritizes work in order to minimize liability exposure to both client and EMS

Work on special projects and additional duties as assigned

Required: Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook

Preferred: ADP MasterTax

Experience

Minimum of five years' experience with Canada and U.S. complex, multi-state payrolls and tax filings

Minimum three to five years' testing experience

Working knowledge of payroll procedures and Federal/State/Local employment tax laws





Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with all levels of management, clients, and colleagues

Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Education

Four-year degree and US or Canada Payroll Certification preferred

Schedule
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM EST. Additional hours and weekends may be required during necessary periods to meet deadlines or when EMS is dealing with unpredictable increases in workload.
