Suncor is on the lookout for a Senior Accounting Analyst to enhance the Supply, Trading & Optimization team's operations in Calgary. Utilize your financial acumen to guide emission accounting and sustainability efforts.

With over 7 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in the energy market, you will support the Environmental Commodities group in managing vital financial aspects related to GHG reduction compliance. This role requires a solid understanding of financial principles and a proactive approach to continuous improvement in accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with the Environmental Commodities team for enhanced business insights
• Facilitate month-end activities related to emission accounting
• Prepare accurate journal entries and financial reports




• Collaborate on accounting policy for evolving regulations
• Drive system and process improvements across finance functions

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with extensive experience
• Relevant certification (CPA, CMA, CA) is a must
• Proficient in Excel and Power BI for financial analysis
• Familiarity with SAP software beneficial
• Solid analytical abilities and solid communication skills
