Position: Senior Microsoft Software Developer – Level 3

Location: Canada

Security: Valid Government of Canada Secret security clearance required The Senior Microsoft Software Developer will design, develop, integrate, implement, test and support enterprise solutions within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. The resource will work with business and technical stakeholders to understand business requirements, determine appropriate Microsoft technologies, recommend sustainable solution architectures, and develop reusable and scalable components.

The role focuses heavily on Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Microsoft Graph, Teams, SharePoint, Dataverse, Power BI and related development technologies.

Key Responsibilities

- Work with business and technical stakeholders to understand business problems, users, processes, automation requirements, reporting needs and solution objectives.
- Assess data requirements, ownership, data integrity, migration needs and integration requirements across Microsoft applications.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate Microsoft 365 technology combinations such as:
- Teams + SharePoint + Planner
- Teams + Power Apps
- Power Apps + Dataverse + Power BI
- Viva + SharePoint
- Compare potential solutions based on simplicity, sustainability, cost, governance and enterprise architecture requirements.
- Recommend technology patterns, identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Design and implement scalable and reusable Microsoft 365 solutions while reducing technical debt.
- Develop documentation, solution designs, operational procedures, release documentation and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Conduct technical walkthroughs and knowledge-transfer sessions with internal teams.
- Test and pilot solutions in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
- Support acceptance testing, release preparation and transition of solutions into production.
- Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshoot application, integration, data and performance issues.
- Support user acceptance testing and verify system functionality and data integrity.

Microsoft Power Automate Development

The resource will develop and maintain Power Automate cloud flows, including:
- Instant, automated and scheduled flows
- User-, data- and schedule-triggered workflows
- Trigger conditions
- Concurrency controls
- Expressions and complex workflow logic
- Compose, Select and Filter Array operations
- JSON parsing and schemas
- Error handling,

Microsoft Graph API / Integration Development

Develop integrations using Microsoft Graph and related APIs, including:
- Microsoft Planner API
- SharePoint Graph API, including Drive, List and Site functionality
- Microsoft Teams Graph API
- Users, groups, files and sites
- OAuth
- Delegated and application permissions
- Application registrations
- Microsoft Graph SDKs and Graph Explorer
- API error handling, throttling and security

Power Apps & Dataverse

- Create reusable custom components using the Power Apps Component Framework.
- Design screens, forms, galleries, navigation and data-entry experiences.
- Develop solutions using Power Fx.
- Integrate Power Apps with Power Automate, Lists, Planner and Dataverse.
- Design Dataverse tables, columns, relationships and reference data.
- Configure business rules, calculated columns and rollups.
- Implement Dataverse security roles, privileges and row-/field-level security.
- Develop C# Dataverse plug-ins and custom APIs where required.
- Support imports, exports, synchronization and enterprise data integrations.

Power BI / Data

- Develop Power BI reports, dashboards and analytics.
- Develop and troubleshoot DAX measures.
- Work with calculated columns, measures, filter context and row context.
- Use Power Query/M for data cleansing, transformation and normalization.
- Design and validate dynamic Row-Level Security.
- Analyze reporting performance and optimize queries and measures.

Microsoft Teams Development

Develop Microsoft Teams solutions involving:
- Tabs
- Bots
- Message extensions
- Adaptive Cards
- Webhooks
- Teams SDK
- Teams Toolkit / Microsoft 365 Agents Toolkit
- TeamsFx
- Microsoft Graph integrations
- Secure APIs
- Teams application manifests
- Responsive and accessible Teams user interfaces

SharePoint / SPFx / Microsoft Lists

- Develop SharePoint Framework (SPFx) solutions.
- Build web parts and extensions.




- Work with SPFx lifecycle and context APIs.
- Develop strongly typed TypeScript solutions.
- Design advanced Microsoft Lists.
- Configure appropriate column types, metadata and lookup structures.
- Implement versioning, auditing and security.
- Address SharePoint list thresholds, indexing, filtering and performance.
- Integrate Lists with Graph API, Power Automate and other Microsoft 365 services.

1. Senior Microsoft Experience

Minimum 10 years of experience within the last 15 years working in a Microsoft ecosystem and performing activities covering:

- Business/problem analysis
- User and process analysis
- Data-layer assessment
- Data migration/integration considerations
- Mapping requirements to Microsoft technologies
- Technology-option analysis
- Solution/architecture recommendations
- Risk identification and mitigation
- Solution design and implementation
- Documentation and knowledge transfer

2. Microsoft Certification

3. Minimum 5 Years of Experience — Last 10 Years

The candidate must demonstrate at least 5 years of experience in each of the following areas:

- Microsoft Planner development using the Planner API
- Power Automate Cloud Flows using standard and custom Microsoft connectors for:
- Automation
- Orchestration
- Power Apps Component Framework/custom components
- Power BI reports and dashboards
- Enterprise/Common Dataverse development and integration

4. Development Tools & Programming Languages

Minimum 5 years of experience within the last 10 years using:

- C#
- .NET
- Python
- TypeScript
- Node.js

Highly Desirable / Rated Experience
