JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Special Projects Manager, the Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and development of C2MI’s technology systems, including servers, databases, integrations, and process automation.
In this technical and operational role, the Systems Administrator ensures the availability, security, and reliability of IT environments. They integrate systems, optimize data flows, support teams, and deploy simple, robust, and well-documented solutions in collaboration with vendors and subcontractors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
IT Systems and Platform Administration
Administer, monitor, troubleshoot, and upgrade servers, application platforms, and technology environments to ensure their availability, performance, security, and stability.
Databases and Data Management
Administer and optimize databases, primarily SQL, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability, as well as backup, restore, and synchronization mechanisms.
Information Systems Integration
Integrate applications, hardware, databases, and cloud platforms; develop and document data exchanges using APIs, connectors, structured files, or scripts.
Process Automation and Improvement
Automate recurring tasks, reports, data transfers, and data checks using PowerShell, Power Automate, SQL, Python, or equivalent tools.
Security, Access, and Operational Compliance
Apply security best practices and manage access, roles, authentication, logging, backups, and system recovery.
Technical Support, Documentation, and Collaboration
Support internal teams, analyze needs, resolve issues,
and collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure service continuity and the ongoing development of solutions.
Document configurations, interfaces, procedures, and controls, and perform any other related tasks within their area of responsibility.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
Degree in computer science, systems administration, information technology, computer engineering, or a related field.
Relevant experience in systems administration within a structured technology environment.
Practical expertise in servers and application platforms, SQL databases, systems integration and APIs, automation, as well as security, access control, backups, and recovery.
Ability to translate operational needs into reliable, simple, and well-documented solutions; attention to detail, independence, analytical skills, and the ability to solve complex problems.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors.
Bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written, is required to collaborate with certain English-only partners.
Experience with industrial systems, MES, ERP, CMMS, or in high-tech, semiconductor, or laboratory environments: a plus.
