POSITION SUMMARY
Stanpro is building the next generation of integrated lighting and controls solutions. As we expand our Smart Lighting & Controls Business Unit, we are seeking a Controls Applications & Systems Specialist to become our technical expert and customer success champion for lighting controls projects across Canada.
This role combines applications engineering, controls expertise, project support, commissioning, training, and technical troubleshooting to help customers successfully specify, install, commission, and operate Stanpro lighting control systems.
YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Provide pre-sale technical support for lighting controls projects.
Develop controls system recommendations and review layouts, wiring diagrams, and submittals.
Support fixture and controls integration across Stanpro product families.
Troubleshoot technical issues and act as an escalation point for controls-related challenges.
Assist with commissioning, programming, startup, and system validation.
Deliver technical training to sales teams, distributors, agents, contractors, and specifiers.
Collaborate with product management and strategic technology partners to improve solutions and customer experience.
Provide technical support and guidance on application documentation, technical resources, and best practices.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Skills
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, lighting layouts, wiring diagrams, and technical submittals;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop practical technical solutions;




Excellent communication and customer relationship skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences;
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with diverse team;
Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects and priorities;
Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written.
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Building Systems, Automation, or a related field is an asset;
Solid understanding of lighting controls, smart building technologies, and electrical systems, including wired and wireless controls, occupancy and daylight sensors, DALI, Bluetooth Mesh, networked lighting, and emergency lighting controls.
Hands-on experience supporting system design, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer-facing technical applications;
Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written.
