DGA Careers is partnering with a well-established independent insurance brokerage on a new leadership opportunity. This role combines team leadership, group relationship management and private client marketing, and it offers real income upside beyond base salary.
About the Role
You will lead an established team of six personal lines account managers, four of whom are long-tenured and highly independent and take ownership of the brokerage's Group and Private Client portfolios. You will be a supportive guide rather than a micromanager, and you will report to a senior leader alongside other team leads.
What You'll Do
Lead, mentor and support a personal lines account management team, with light-touch coaching and guidance
Manage day-to-day team matters such as vacation scheduling and coverage, and keep everyone informed and aligned
Serve as first-level escalation for complex accounts, coverage questions and client issues
Help with recruitment, onboarding and training
Group
Act as the main relationship holder for the brokerage's affinity and group clients, including managers and key stakeholders
Represent the brokerage at networking events, industry functions and group client events (typically two or three a year)
Oversee group quoting, with support from other team members
Pursue new group opportunities if you're entrepreneurial. This is a bonus rather than the primary function, and it carries additional commission
Private Client
Act as the liaison between the brokerage's producers and premier high-net-worth carriers for quote submissions
Review submissions, spot gaps or missing information, and guide producers on what the carriers will require
Support the account manager who services existing private client house accounts
Help grow the private client book through referrals and existing relationships
What You Bring




Active RIBO license
5–7 years of personal lines experience in a brokerage environment. Direct writer-only backgrounds are not a fit.
Prior leadership, team lead or management experience
Familiarity with high-net-worth or premier personal lines carriers (Chubb, Ovation, Prestige or similar). Deep expertise isn't required, but you should understand what these carriers offer and what they ask for.
Understanding of how group and affinity programs work is an asset
Strong interpersonal skills: personable, comfortable meeting people at events, and able to build trust with group leaders
Leadership presence and a team-oriented, supportive style
Solid analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills, and comfort with insurance management systems
Base salary of approximately $90,000–$100,000, with flexibility depending on experience
Uncapped earning potential: commission of 40% on new business and 25% on renewals for business you bring in and manage.
Company-paid health and dental after three months
Work Arrangement
Hybrid: four days a week in the office, including Mondays and Fridays. Full-time in office initially during onboarding.
