Based at our project in Northern B.C., this will be a 3 week on / 3 week off rotation opportunity

Position Summary:

The Shift Boss role is to safely manage the daily advancement of development and production targets. Overseeing the daily operation of their department from a frontline position gives a shift boss firsthand perspective and knowledge of all work headings. A Shift Boss has a good understanding of mining procedures and processes for their given department (i.e., Production, Development, etc.) The main concerns of a Shift Boss is the safety of their crew, quality and quantity of work, condition of the workplace and reporting accurately all shift activities.

Bosses make a close connection with their workers and build mutual respect and knowledge about their team. They learn how best to work with them and how their abilities are best used to mine efficiently. Giving workers the opportunity to advance to new positions and creating a healthy environment where workers feel appreciated for their hard work is key to the role and is key to crew morale.

The Shift Boss is responsible and accountable for the following:

- Adhere to all legislated mining and environmental regulations, site policies, procedures, and processes, while ensuring Health & Safety remains the highest priority.




- Conduct regular safety briefings, workplace inspections, and hazard assessments, and implement appropriate measures to mitigate identified risks.
- Efficiently allocate manpower, equipment, and other resources to optimize production, minimize downtime, and meet established production goals and targets.
- Monitor and manage all production activities during the shift, identifying and implementing opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce waste.
- Supervise and lead the mining team by providing transparent direction, support, and guidance to ensure safe and effective operations.
- Identify team training needs and coordinate appropriate training to enhance safety awareness, operational skills, and overall performance.
- Address conflicts and workplace issues, while fostering teamwork, effective communication, and a positive work environment.
- Ensure mining equipment and machinery are inspected, operated according to specifications and workplace conditions, and maintained to minimize breakdowns and equipment damage.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of shift activities, safety inspections, equipment maintenance, and other required documentation.
- Report incidents and accidents to the appropriate stakeholders, investigate as required, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Perform other mining-related duties as required.

Qualifications / Requirements:

- 5 years experience supervising full-time in an underground mining environment.
- British Columbia Underground Shift Boss Certification is considered an asset.
- First-aid ticket.
- Mine Rescue Certificate and experience preferred.
- Experience using Microsoft’s M365 suite is an asset (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Proficiency in the operation of mining equipment such as drills, mechanized bolters, loaders, and haulage trucks.
- Basic knowledge of machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, maps, and schematics related to mine layout and equipment.




- Good knowledge of ground support types, installation methods, and assessing ground conditions.
- Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying 25 kgs on a regular basis.
- Positive attitude and enjoys being a proactive member of a high performing team.
- Dependable and able to commit to a 3 week on / 3 week off rotation.

This position involves frequent air travel to and from the work site. Applicants must meet all legislated requirements for air travel to work at the remote site camp. You will be required to work both dayshift and nightshift as part of the rotational schedule 21 days on site, 21 days off site. For this safety sensitive position, you will be required to undergo a background check and be required to undergo a substance test and pre-employment testing.

What we offer:

- Competitive annual salary ranging between $170,000 - $190,000 based on experience and qualifications. The wage ranges are comprised of the hourly wage plus applicable premiums and calculated on an average number of rotations worked per year.
