Job Summary

Acecon General Contracting Inc. is seeking a motivated and hands-on Site Supervisor to join our construction team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of construction activities on site, working closely with Project Managers, Project Coordinators, subcontractors, consultants, clients, and building representatives.

Our projects primarily include commercial, healthcare, institutional, and interior renovation/fit-up work, often within active or occupied facilities. The Site Supervisor must be organized, proactive, safety-conscious, and comfortable coordinating multiple trades while maintaining project schedule, quality, and site requirements.

Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities and subcontractors on site.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, approved shop drawings, project requirements, and applicable codes.
- Coordinate sequencing between architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, millwork, flooring, glazing, and other trades.
- Review construction drawings and identify site conflicts, missing information, and coordination issues before they affect the work.
- Monitor subcontractor progress and communicate schedule requirements and priorities.
- Coordinate material deliveries, site access, storage, and installation requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and monitor workmanship and quality.
- Ensure required inspections are completed before work is covered or subsequent activities proceed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe construction site.
- Enforce company Health & Safety requirements and compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and applicable regulations.




- Conduct and document site orientations, toolbox talks, inspections, and other required safety activities.
- Coordinate with consultants, building management, inspectors, clients, and authorities as required.
- Maintain daily site reports, progress photos, delivery records, inspection records, and other project documentation.
- Report progress, delays, deficiencies, site conditions, and potential issues promptly to the Project Manager.
- Assist with RFIs, site instructions, change documentation, and verification of completed work.
- Coordinate deficiency correction, final inspections, commissioning, and project close-out activities.
- Support the project team in achieving schedule milestones while maintaining Acecon’s standards for safety, quality, and professionalism.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction site supervision, assistant site supervision, foreman, or a similar site-based construction role.
- Experience with commercial, institutional, healthcare, medical/dental, retail, or interior fit-up/renovation projects is preferred.
- Good understanding of construction sequencing and coordination between multiple trades.
- Ability to read and understand architectural, mechanical, electrical, and other construction drawings is required.
- Familiarity with the Ontario Building Code and Ontario construction safety requirements.
- Working knowledge of OHSA, WHMIS,



PPE requirements, and general construction site safety.
- Ability to identify construction issues and work with the project team and subcontractors to develop practical solutions.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Basic computer skills for email, drawings, reports, photographs, and project documentation.
- Experience with construction management/document software such as Microsoft Project, Google Docs, or similar platforms is an asset.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and ability to travel to project sites as required.
- Current Working at Heights and WHMIS certification are preferred.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, dependable, organized, and willing to take ownership of the site. The ideal candidate does not need decades of experience, but should have a solid construction background, good judgment, the ability to coordinate trades effectively, and the motivation to grow into a senior Site Superintendent role.

The position is well suited to a construction skilled with approximately 2 years of relevant site experience who is ready to take greater responsibility for day-to-day project execution.
