Join the BC Family Maintenance Agency as a Legal Counsel in Victoria. This role focuses on delivering expert legal guidance on family law matters while ensuring compliance across provincial regulations.

Reporting to the Vice President, you will be an integral member of a committed legal team. Your responsibilities include advising staff on family maintenance laws, engaging in court representation, and troubleshooting legal disputes. You'll play a critical role in enhancing service delivery for clients and ensuring effective legal processes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Advise on case management, including payment allocation and eligibility.
• Represent BCFMA in Family Maintenance Enforcement Act matters.
• Prepare reports and written legal opinions as needed.




• Maintain cooperative relationships with team members and stakeholders.
• Resolve client concerns related to legal proceedings.

Requirements:
• Bachelor of Law and membership with the Law Society of B.C.
• Minimum 3 years’ family law experience with court exposure.
• In-depth knowledge of family maintenance laws.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Adaptable to legal and operational changes within BCFMA.
