Our financial services client is seeking a Senior EDW Quality Engineer (10+ years of experience) to lead hands on ETL testing and data validation using GCP/BigQuery

Join a critical enterprise data warehouse initiative within the banking sector focused on large scale ETL testing, data validation, and reconciliation activities. This role supports end to end validation of data pipelines across Oracle, SQL Server, BigQuery, and GCP data services. The position includes ownership of test planning, execution, regression validation, defect management, and testing sign off activities for EDW initiatives.

Contract (6 months, extension likely), Toronto Hybrid (2 days North York / 2 days Downtown), Working Hours: EST
Must Haves

7+ years of hands on experience in ETL testing, data validation, source to target reconciliation , and end to end validation in Data Warehouse environments

Hands on experience with GCP and BigQuery (mandatory) , including complex queries for reconciliation and troubleshooting

Robust experience with SQL , backend testing, and ETL validation across Oracle and SQL Server

Proven ownership of test planning, execution, regression validation, defect management, and testing sign off

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Nice to Have

Airflow / Cloud Composer

ETL test automation using Python and SQL

Git / GitHub

CI/CD tools

ISTQB certification

Responsibilities

Collaborate with developers, business analysts, data engineers,



and stakeholders to resolve data quality issues

Participate in requirements reviews, source to target mapping sessions, and design discussions

Analyze source to target mappings and create test strategies and test cases

Execute SQL queries and validate ETL transformations across Oracle, SQL Server, and BigQuery platforms

Validate end to end ETL workflows, data pipelines, and data movement across source, staging, and target environments

Support automated data validation, reconciliation, and regression testing where applicable

Maintain test cases, defect logs, test results, and QA artifacts in Jira and Confluence
