Role Overview
Supervise, coordinate and control the safe and efficient operation of the day-to-day milling process.

Core Responsibilities

Supervising the operating crews in the primary crushing circuits, the copper and molybdenum concentrators, tailings storage facility, environmental ponds, and water systems.

Initiating and expediting work orders for on-shift maintenance and repair.

Recommending changes and modifications to company policies, personnel and equipment.

Motivating crews in proper operating practices, good housekeeping, fostering a solid team atmosphere while maintaining a safe, disciplined work environment.

Correcting operating problems and notifying senior management of any prolonged production variance.





Requesting services from other departments as required.

Approving timecards, carrying-out planned job evaluations and area audit inspections, conducting safety meetings and employee performance appraisals.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent.

5 years experience in a mining environment with (crushing, grinding, flotation and dewatering), 3 years previous supervisory experience.

Skills & Competencies

Knowledge or experience with SAG milling would be desirable and previous experience with an SX-EW operation and/or in maintenance would be an asset.

Familiarity with a Distributed Control System (DCS) and Expert System would be a definite asset.

Computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
