About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Specialty Cleaning Technician with a focus on Historic Preservation projects in and around Kimberley . This unique role involves the delicate cleaning and restoration of historical buildings, monuments, and artifacts, requiring specialized knowledge and techniques. You will work with a team of preservation experts, employing gentle yet effective methods to clean sensitive materials without causing damage.

Key Responsibilities

Perform specialized cleaning of historic structures, monuments, and artifacts using appropriate, non-damaging techniques.

Apply knowledge of various materials (stone, metal, wood, paint) and their cleaning requirements to avoid damage.

Operate specialized cleaning equipment, such as low-pressure washers and gentle abrasive systems, with precision.

Work closely with preservation architects, conservators,



and project managers to execute cleaning plans effectively.

Document cleaning processes, materials used, and observations during project execution.

Requirements

Proven experience in specialty cleaning, with a demonstrated focus or interest in historic preservation or conservation.

Knowledge of historical building materials and the effects of various cleaning agents.

Ability to work with delicate materials and employ extremely careful, precise techniques.

Experience operating specialized cleaning equipment safely and effectively.

Strong observational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
