Summer Student – Digital Marketing Coordinator

Tourism Rossland is now accepting applications for the full time position of Summer Student - Digital Marketing Coordinator. We are looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic student with digital media experience–including photography and videography. This 12-week position is based on 35 hours per week with a flexible schedule.

Wage: $23/ hour

Contract: up to 12 weeks with a possibility to extend The Government of Canada is partially funding this job through the Canada Summer Jobs program. To apply for this job, you must:

- Be aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job;
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN); and
- Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
- International students and other temporary residents of Canada are not eligible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Create, post and manage content and updates on Tourism Rossland’s digital media channels (Instagram, Facebook)




- Support the development of marketing projects and marketing collateral for print and web
- Produce and coordinate the development of new photo and video assets
- Manage and organize all creative assets in Dropbox & SmugMug
- Assist in any other duties that may be assigned by the Marketing Manager or Executive Director

Required Skills:

- Knowledge of tourism, hospitality and marketing
- Skilled in all digital media platforms with the ability to create engaging content highlighting the region
- Excellent verbal, written and online communication skills
- General office skills, including basic computer literacy
- Experience with photo and/or video production
- Self-starter and able to work well solo or with a small team and be goal oriented
- High degree of sensitivity in dealing with the Public, Board and Stakeholders
- Able to work independently, show initiative and meet deadlines
- Able to travel and work flexible hours as required
