Job Summary

We are a dynamic and rapidly expanding logistics company providing reliable transportation and supply chain solutions across Canada and the United States. As our organization continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Accountant to join our Finance team.

This role is ideal for a designated CPA who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a meaningful impact through financial leadership, operational excellence, and strategic decision support.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance

- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with ASPE, IFRS, and applicable accounting standards.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Coordinate external audits, tax engagements, and regulatory reporting requirements.

Financial Analysis & Business Support

- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to management.
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Track key financial metrics and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
- Support strategic business decisions through financial modeling and analysis.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

- Design, implement, and strengthen internal control processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and reporting efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support risk management and financial governance initiatives.

Payroll, Tax & Operational Accounting

- Perform payroll processing and payroll compliance activities.
- Manage HST filings, and government reporting obligations.
- Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset management.
- Ensure accurate accounting treatment of complex transactions, including intercompany balances and accruals.

Leadership & Collaboration

- Mentor and support junior accounting staff.
- Collaborate with operations,



warehouse teams, and senior leadership to improve financial visibility and decision-making.
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives that support organizational growth.

Qualifications

Required

- CPA designation (CPA Ontario or equivalent).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Solid knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, and internal controls.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with ERP and accounting systems.

Preferred

- Experience within logistics, transportation, distribution, or supply chain organizations.
- Experience managing external audits and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated success leading process improvement and automation initiatives.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $85,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
