We are seeking an experienced and dependable Senior Swim Instructor / Aquatics Program Assistant for a permanent, year-round position.

This role requires someone with consistent, long-term availability who can assist in all areas of our aquatics program. Candidates must be available to work a fixed schedule, with day, evening and weekend shifts. This position is not suitable for applicants whose availability changes frequently due to school, seasonal commitments, or other scheduling restrictions.

Responsibilities

- Teach swim lessons for children and adults.
- Support and mentor swim instructors.
- Assist with training and onboarding new staff.
- Assess students regularly and make recommendations regarding progression and appropriate class placement.
- Observe classes and provide input on student progress, class structure, and overall class effectiveness.
- Identify students who may require additional support or a change in level.
- Monitor lesson quality and safety standards.
- Assist with instructor coverage and daily pool operations.
- Communicate professionally with parents.
- Assist with special programs and events.
- Assist with monitoring pool water quality and chemical levels.

Requirements

- Previous swim instruction experience.
- Current National Lifeguard (NL) certification required.




- Must be proficient in all four strokes: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly.
- Solid stroke technique and ability to identify and correct technique.
- Knowledge of pool chemicals, water testing, and basic pool chemistry.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Reliable, organized, and able to take initiative.
- Must have flexible availability and be able to work daytime, evening, and weekend shifts.

We are looking for someone who can teach at an advanced level, evaluate student and class performance, support our instructors, and take an active role in the overall operation of our aquatics program.

Pay: $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 per week
