Waterloo Independent School (WIS) is seeking a part-time teacher for our visual art course starting October 20, 2026. WIS is a private high school located in Cambridge, Ontario. We follow the Ontario curriculum and our courses are inspected by the Ministry of Education.
Our expectations of our teachers are high and we dedicate ourselves to supporting teachers in their professional growth. Classes are small giving students many opportunities to interact with teachers. Our mission is to care for students, guide them and foster a spirit of independence.
Who are we looking for?
We want a teacher with a demonstrated commitment to the WIS mission. Initiative, an innovative spirit and the ability to deliver engaging lessons are highly valued. Ontario College of Teachers certification is preferred but not essential. Experience working with international students is an asset.

Candidates should submit a cover letter addressing their suitability as a teacher at WIS along with their resume.
Candidates will be contacted if an interview is scheduled. Candidates should bring a portfolio to the interview and be prepared to do a 10-15 minute demonstration on a segment of a lesson plan on the topic of their choice. For this part of the interview, candidates should imagine themselves in a classroom situation with interviewers participating as students.
