Position Overview

At KPA Lawyers Professional Corporation, we are seeking a motivated and client-focused Associate Lawyer to join our growing team in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a diverse range of matters, including real estate, corporate law, wills & estates, family law, and general civil matters.

The ideal candidate is looking for a supportive environment where they can take ownership of files, build strong client relationships, and grow their practice while working alongside an experienced and collaborative team.

Responsibilities

- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients across various practice areas, including real estate, corporate law, wills & estates, family law, and general civil matters.
- Prepare, review, and draft legal documents, including contracts, wills, agreements, deeds, pleadings, and other legal instruments.
- Represent and advocate for clients in negotiations, settlements, transactions, and other legal matters.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis of applicable legislation, regulations, case law, and legal precedents.
- Manage files from start to finish while maintaining strong client communication and ensuring matters are handled efficiently and professionally.
- Build and maintain strong,



long-term relationships with clients and provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice.

Requirements

- Licensed to practice law in Ontario and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- 1–3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with exposure to multiple practice areas.
- Experience or interest in one or more of the following areas: real estate, corporate law, wills & estates, family law, and general civil matters.
- Strong legal research, drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage client files and provide practical, timely legal advice.
- Strong commitment to maintaining Law Society of Ontario regulations and professional standards.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong judgment and initiative, with the ability to identify issues requiring immediate attention.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to ethical legal practice.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with legal technology and a willingness to learn new applications and systems.
