## What Does This Business Operations Lead Role Involve?### Job DescriptionChegg is seeking a Business Operations Lead to serve as a key strategic and operational partner to the GM of Chegg Academic Services. This role will act as the GM’s right hand on business and operational matters, helping to establish operational discipline, identify strategic points of leverage, and drive initiatives that deliver meaningful business results.This is a high-impact role for someone who is equally comfortable thinking strategically and driving execution. The right person will bring structure to ambiguity, help the organization operate with rigor, and work across functions to keep the business focused on what matters most.
You should be energized by solving complex problems, improving how teams operate, and turning analysis into action.We are looking for someone with 4+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, high-performing tech companies, or a combination of these environments.### What You’ll DoServe as a strategic and operational right hand to the GM of Chegg Academic ServicesHelp establish operating discipline across the business through strong planning, prioritization, performance tracking, and follow-throughIdentify the highest-leverage opportunities to improve business performance and help translate them into actionDrive key operating rhythms, including leadership meetings, business reviews, KPI tracking, planning processes, and cross-functional follow-upsPartner closely with Product, Finance, Analytics, Marketing, Operations, Support, and other teams to drive alignment and executionBuild analyses, forecasts, business cases, dashboards,
and executive-ready materials to support decision-makingLead special projects and cross-functional initiatives on behalf of the GMHelp assess tradeoffs, prioritize resources, and ensure the organization is focused on the work that drives the greatest business returnSpot issues early, structure problems clearly, and help drive practical solutionsTranslate high-level business goals into clear workstreams, ownership, and measurable outcomes### What We’re Looking For4+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, operating roles at a high-performing tech company, or a combination of these environments### Strong analytical horsepower and business judgment### Excellent problem-solving skills and structured thinkingStrong financial and operational intuition, with the ability to connect analysis to action### Exceptional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to influence across teams and levels without relying on formal authorityHigh ownership, strong attention to detail, and comfort operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environmentsProven ability to drive cross-functional work and get things doneLow ego, high capacity, and willingness to step into whatever the business needs most### Preferred QualificationsExperience in strategy, business operations,
strategic finance, consulting, private equity, or general managementExperience working closely with senior leaders on high-priority business mattersExperience in tech, consumer internet, subscription, education, marketplace, or digital product businessesComfort moving between strategic questions and day-to-day operational executionTrack record of identifying leverage points and converting them into measurable business impact### Why This RoleThis is a unique opportunity to work directly with the GM of Chegg Academic Services in a role with broad exposure across the business.
