This position will be working on the West Village project.

Reporting to the Director, Procurement and Contracts Management, the Senior Buyer and Asset Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all activities related to the competitive bidding process, including the process for calling and receiving bids, evaluating bids, and preparing the recommendation for contract award and contract management within their assigned categories.
The Senior Buyer and Asset Coordinator also assists the Director, Capital Management and Maintenance by maintaining the organization’s capital asset inventory and coordinating the Preventative Maintenance Program for those assets. Additional support to the Capital Management and Maintenance portfolio includes assisting in the preparation of work orders for capital assets using the Asset Planning and Preventative Maintenance software.
Educational and other Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in a related business function including finance, chain supply management, procurement, asset coordination and management, etc.
- Supply Chain Management Professional Designation, or equivalent.
- Membership with the National Institute of Public Procurement (NIBP).
- A combination of experience and education will be considered.
Work Experience
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in a related business function including finance, chain supply management, procurement, asset coordination and management, etc.
- Supply Chain Management Professional Designation, or equivalent.
- Membership with the National Institute of Public Procurement (NIBP).
- A combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Experience with asset planning, preventative maintenance, and inventory management software.
NOTE: An equivalent combination of education and other qualifications and work experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Initiating tenders, proposals and quotes for new projects/products or services.
- Leading groups of stakeholders to achieve a consensus decision.
- Forecasting requirements based on historical utilization data.
- Proficient data entry skills.
- Proficient at written and oral communications.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications including, but not limited to, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to deal effectively with conflict in a diplomatic and professional manner.
Requirements:
- A current and clear Criminal Records Check Form and if applicable a Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date.
