Casual Climbing Instructor/Desk Attendant The CUBE is looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic person to join our team as a Casual Climbing Instructor/Desk Attendant.

This is a outstanding opportunity for someone who loves climbing, enjoys working with young people and is excited about helping young climbers develop confidence, skills and a love for the sport.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Youth Programs & Climbing Instruction

- Instruct after school youth climbing programs for 8-15 year olds, creating fun, engaging and age-appropriate climbing sessions.
- Teach climbing fundamentals, movement skills, gym etiquette and climbing safety.
- Supervise and support youth participants throughout climbing sessions in roped and bouldering lessons.
- Create a positive, inclusive environment where kids of different abilities and experience levels can participate and progress.
- Provide introductory climbing instruction and orientations for other members and guests.

Front Desk & Guest Services

- Welcome members and guests with a friendly, helpful attitude.
- Check guests in and process day passes, memberships, rentals and other transactions.
- Answer questions about the gym, programs, memberships and equipment.
- Help maintain a clean, organized and welcoming facility.
- Monitor the climbing area and help ensure guests are following gym rules and safety procedures.
- Assist with opening and/or closing duties as needed including cash handling.

We're Looking For Someone Who

- Has minimum 2 years climbing experience and a genuine enthusiasm for the sport.
- Enjoys working with children and youth.




- Is comfortable leading a group and creating a fun, structured environment.
- Is responsible, dependable and attentive to safety.
- Possesses or is willing to obtain a current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening as a condition of employment.
- Communicates clearly and positively with young people, parents, coworkers and gym members.
- Is patient, encouraging and able to work with a range of ages and abilities.
- Can confidently teach basic climbing skills and techniques.
- Has previous climbing instruction, coaching, camp, education or youth-program experience (an asset).
- Holds current First Aid/CPR or relevant climbing/instructor certifications (an asset).

Position Details

- Position: Casual/Part-Time.
- Hours: variable, with regular after school weekday shifts required for the youth program, plus occasional evenings and weekends with the option to pick up cover shifts as and when required. (5-10 hours per week)
- Start Date: Oct 19, 2026
- Wage: $20-$22/hour depending on experience and qualifications.
