Role Description The City Dispatcher is a full-time, on-site role based at Nishan Transport Inc’s terminal in Mississauga, ON. This role is responsible for coordinating local pick-ups and deliveries, assigning loads to drivers, and optimizing routes to ensure timely and efficient service.

The City

Dispatcher monitors driver progress, updates schedules, and communicates any changes or delays to drivers, customers, and internal teams. Daily tasks include maintaining accurate dispatch records, managing load tenders, addressing service issues, and supporting compliance with company policies and transportation regulations.



The role works closely with operations, customer service, and drivers to maintain high service standards and support safe, efficient city operations.

Qualifications

- Operational coordination skills, including route planning, load scheduling, and fleet dispatching within local or regional transport networks.
- Customer service and communication skills for interacting professionally with drivers, clients, and internal teams, both in person and by phone/email.
- Administrative and technical skills, such as using dispatch or TMS software, maintaining accurate records, and working with spreadsheets and reporting tools.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle service issues, scheduling conflicts, and unexpected changes while maintaining safety and efficiency.
- Knowledge of trucking industry practices, basic transportation regulations, and city delivery operations; prior experience in dispatch or logistics is an asset.
- Robust organization, time management, and attention to detail, with the ability to work in a fast-paced setting and manage multiple tasks at once.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in logistics, transportation, or related fields is considered an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site full time in Mississauga, ON, and to collaborate as part of a diverse, safety-focused operations team.
