Work as a Relief Cook at Na-Me-Res in Toronto, focusing on creating nutritious meals for men in need at the shelter. Your culinary skills will support holistic care and health.
In this role, you will report to the Lead Cook, preparing meals from scratch using standardized recipes while ensuring that food safety and cleanliness standards are upheld. You will supervise residents in kitchen activities and help organize meal programs for community events. Bring your large quantity cooking experience to support vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities: • Cook complete meals adhering to the Canadian Food Guide • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and health standards • Supervise food portioning and dining setup • Ensure proper food storage and kitchen equipment care • Assist with community feast preparations
Requirements: • Completion of cooking program with demonstrated experience • Experience in meal planning and large-scale cooking • Valid Food Handler’s Certificate necessary • Ability to lift food supplies for kitchen operations • Knowledge of dietary guidelines and food allergies
