Deliver rigorous, Ontario Language Curriculum-aligned instruction in reading, writing, oral communication, and media literacy for assigned grades within the Primary, Junior, and/or Intermediate divisions.

Use a range of instructional approaches including guided reading, writing workshop, Socratic seminars, reader's theatre, and direct instruction to meet diverse learners where they are.

Teach the full writing process, grammar and mechanics, comprehension strategies, academic vocabulary, and multiple genres with clear purpose and high expectations.

Select and incorporate texts, including Islamic literature and non-fiction, that reflect students' identities and expand their understanding of the world.

Conduct wide-ranging assessments including running records, writing conferences, and formal evaluations; provide timely, constructive feedback and prepare Ontario-aligned report cards.

Maintain a classroom culture where reading and writing are valued, risk-taking is safe,



and Islamic character traits such as curiosity, honesty, and perseverance are lived out in the learning community.

Collaborate with homeroom and subject teachers to support literacy across the curriculum and contribute to school-wide literacy initiatives.

Communicate regularly with families about student progress and provide practical, concrete strategies for supporting literacy at home.
