Serene Law P.C. is a settlement-oriented, access-to-justice family law firm based in Scarborough with a primarily Legal Aid Ontario practice. We believe every family deserves quality legal representation regardless of what they can pay.

About the role

We are expanding our family law team and need a lawyer who can hit the ground running by Thanksgiving. This is a hands-on role where you will carry your own files with mentorship and structured trial preparation.

Responsibilities

- Manage your own family law files, most under LAO certificates
- Handle the full LAO lifecycle — certificate intake, discretionary increases, accounts, and billing
- Draft pleadings, financial statements, and offers to settle
- Attend case conferences, settlement conferences, motions, and trials
- Work directly with clients through separation, parenting, support, child protection, and property matters




- Grow into more complex trial and negotiation work

Qualifications

- Called to the Ontario Bar with 1–3 years of experience (articling and associate time counts)
- Available to start by October 13, 2026
- Family law experience required
- LAO panel membership preferred (or willingness to get on the panels — we will support you)
- Strong drafting and advocacy skills
- Genuine commitment to access-to-justice work
- Fluency in Tamil, Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Mandarin, Cantonese, Farsi, or Arabic is a strong asset
