Opportunity
MacEwan University is seeking a Financial Aid Advisor for a full-time continuing chance with the Office of the University Registrar (OUR).
Reporting to the Associate Registrar, the Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for providing a high level of service to understand, anticipate, identify and resolve issues involving tuition, fees, scholarships, awards, bursaries, and student loans. You will provide expert advice and direction to ensure students are informed about their fees, financial aid options, and are supported during their studies at MacEwan University. In addition, the advising team is responsible for the administration of the university's annual Scholarship, Awards and Bursaries program.
Key responsibilities include
- Providing knowledgeable and accurate advice to students regarding tuition, fees, scholarships, awards, bursaries, and student loans;
- Providing guidance on other financial options available to support students through their post-secondary journey;
- Identifying students in financial crisis and exploring options for Emergency Loan or Bursaries;
- Confirming Federal/Provincial student loans, grants, scholarships, and bursaries to full-time and part-time students;
- Processing confirmations of enrolment in accordance with all federal and provincial aid regulations;
- Setting up, processing, decision making, auditing, dispensing and analytical review of all Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries (SAB) applications in accordance with institutional regulations, terms of reference agreements, endowment agreements, and policies and procedures;
- Providing back up and coverage for cashiering and general fee services; and
- Supporting fee services with troubleshooting student accounts and financial aid inquiries.

Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of working experience in a post-secondary environment providing advice and assistance to clients.
- Experience with registration and student financial accounts.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
