About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Irrigation Technician to join their agricultural operations in Kimberley. This role is essential for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems across the farm, ensuring optimal water delivery for crop health and yield. You will work with various types of irrigation equipment, troubleshoot system malfunctions, and implement water-efficient solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, experience with agricultural water systems, and a commitment to water conservation and efficient resource management within the arid climate of the Northern Cape. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the productivity and sustainability of the farm's irrigation infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair a variety of irrigation systems, including drip, sprinkler, and center pivot systems.

Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with irrigation equipment and water distribution networks.

Perform regular inspections of irrigation infrastructure to ensure functionality and identify potential issues.





Operate and maintain tools and machinery used for irrigation system installation and repair.

Ensure efficient water usage and adherence to water management plans and regulations.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Irrigation Technician or in a related field (e.g., plumbing, mechanical repairs).

Knowledge of different irrigation system types and their operation.

Skills in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues related to irrigation systems.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.

Good physical condition and ability to work outdoors in various conditions.
