About The General By Robert Morgan | Directed by Kathryn Smith

When Jainin and Jacob move to a small town they meet an old smelly crossing guard that everyone knows as the General. An unlikely friendship blossoms between the General and Jainin as she learns all he does for the community in his unique way. When the town of Bridgeport gets absorbed into the larger city of Kitchener, Jainin,



leads the charge as she fights city hall to keep the children’s beloved community crossing guard.

Based on a true story of Frank Groff, a crossing guard in Bridgeport, Ontario.

Further Details and requirements

- Quest tours to schools all over Alberta and performs in school gymnasiums.
- Stage Managers must have a valid driver’s license as they are the primary driver of the van.
- Stage Managers must have up to date first aid (Quest can provide funds for training ahead of touring if needed)
- Quest requires all touring team members obtain a police check (paid by Quest)
- The tour contains out-of-town dates.
- This is an Equity contract, with a concession to engage a Non-Equity Member Stage Manager.
- Quest will conduct interviews with viable candidates.

Submission deadline is August 10, 2026, but will remain open until a suitable candidate is found
