Who We Are The purpose of the Alberta Youth Theatre Collective (AYTC) is to raise the profile of youth theatre programs in the community, encourage attendance at theatrical productions, educate theatre appreciation, celebrate achievement in theatre arts, mentor young writers, and give youth a platform for their creative endeavors. We support and encourage youth on stage, behind the scenes, and in the audience. AYTC supports a collection of schools within Edmonton and surrounding areas by offering different opportunities for young students to attend and review shows with selected reviews published with the Edmonton Journal, with the season culminating in a Year-End Gala in June celebrating all of the year’s productions. We provide additional support for schools and students through workshops, tickets to qualified productions, and additional enrichment, mentorship, and training.

AYTC Program Administrator The Program Administrator/Assistant is responsible for supporting the Executive Director in communicating, planning and designing the program alongside the board through proactively monitoring progress over the 2025/2026 season. New to the position this year is the task of social media management. The successful applicant/candidate will be in charge of social media and marketing creatives, alongside website management.

A lot of the Program Administrator’s work is completed independently by the administrator with the exception of show attendance and board meetings.

Qualifications:

- Reliable transportation
- Excellent and prompt written and spoken communication skills




- Enthusiasm for teen theatre artists and theatre productions
- Confidence in mentoring and working with students
- Experience in grant writing
- Experience in sponsor and community relations
- Experience in graphic design, arts administration and event planning
- Able to work collaboratively and independently
- Prior relationship to AYTC or the Capppies organization is not required but encouraged

Compensation: $600/monthly The Successful Candidate KEY Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

- Work with the Executive Director to develop the AYTC program
- Work with the Executive Director in the planning and execution of Training Day
- Provide ongoing support to the Executive Director, such as email management, ensuring communication is delivered efficiently and on time
- Attend evening or weekend matinee performances and participate in pre and post show discussions
- Grant writing and research
- Engage in community partners and theatre companies
- Work with the Executive Director in the planning and execution of the year end Gala
- Manage social media
- Creation of social media marketing for the 2025/2026 AYTC season
- Developing creative and engaging content
- Monitoring Instagram and Facebook inboxes
- Updating the AYTC website with new season shows, gala photos, and publishing reviews
- Assisting in the creation of Gala content (such as program design, slideshow, etc)

Mandatory Attendance includes:

- All board meetings (once a month as pre determined by board members; in-person or online)
