Junior Floral Designer

Alana's Flowers & Gifts is a family-owned floral shop proudly serving the Etobicoke community for over 40 years. We are seeking a talented and passionate Junior Floral Designer to join our team.

Position Overview

This role offers hours ranging from part-time to full-time, depending on seasonal demand and business volume. The ideal candidate is creative, reliable, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-end floral environment.

Availability Requirements

- Must be available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Must be available to work Sundays as required

Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years of floral design experience in a busy, high-end flower shop
- Solid knowledge of fresh flowers, floral care, and design techniques
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining exceptional quality standards
- Excellent attention to detail and strong customer service skills
- Ability to create both traditional and contemporary floral arrangements
- Experience using POS (Point of Sale) systems for sales transactions, order processing, and customer management
- Comfortable handling phone orders, emails, and customer inquiries in a professional manner
- Previous retail experience, preferably in a floral, gift, or luxury retail environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to assist with daily shop operations, merchandising,



inventory management, and maintaining store presentation
- Experience managing multiple orders and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of online order management is considered an asset

Interview Process

Selected candidates will be invited for an interview and will be required to complete a practical floral design assessment. This working interview is designed to demonstrate:

- Floral knowledge
- Design skills and creativity
- Proper flower handling and care
- Ability to work in a busy, high-end floral shop environment

Compensation

Compensation will be based on experience, skill level, and demonstrated floral design abilities.
