We are a well-established Veterinarian Hospital, committed to always providing a friendly and professional service, and we are seeking a part-time Kennel Assistant to join our dynamic team.

This position requires attention to detail, time management, flexibility, autonomy, and integrity.

The Kennel Assistant is an excellent opportunity to learn about animal care, working in a team as well as independently, all while being in a quick paced environment. The candidate needs to possess strong skills in organization, cleanliness, and the ability to follow protocol. We are looking for someone with a strong sense of responsibility and someone with true compassion for animals.

Our team needs to work effectively to provide the best care whether it's during consultations or when dogs cats stay with us for our boarding services (doggy/kitty daycare!).

Our ideal candidate will have:

- The ability to confidentially and effectively work hands-on, it is important to always be willing to learn.

-You will be expected to thoroughly sanitize and organize in a medical environment.

-You will learn to properly restrain animals and learn to assist the Veterinarians & Animal Health Technicians if need be, etc.

-Comfortable in a medical atmosphere. *This is NOT for everyone! It can be hectic at times; you'll see needles, you'll see blood, you'll see feces, urine, etc.

-Accepting of routine tasks. Each day, many of the same tasks need to be completed in order to keep the Hospital in top shape. It is crucial that the Kennel Assistant be consistent with their work ethic. We work with task lists/check lists to keep our staff on track.

-Self-motivated & proactive. Although this is quite a routine job,



there are peaks and valleys in terms of how busy we are. When things speed up, we need a staff member who will maintain the pace and work with a sense of urgency. When things slow down, we need someone who continues working hard to ensure the quality of cleanliness does not decline.

-Attention to detail. Around a medical practice, things need to be done precisely and up to a certain standard. We are looking for someone who will not "half" do a task. Completing tasks properly and efficiently is required.

-Kindness! We have a very sweet staff and we are looking to find someone who will fit our vibe. Humour is a bonus! Being easy going gets you extra points, too.

-Welcoming of constructive criticism. This is vital, especially within the first 3 months of a job! In order to truly understand this job and what we expect of you, you'll need to be open to feedback and some constructive criticism.

It would be a GREAT asset if you could lift up to 45 pounds.

We are a 2 minute walk from Lionel-Groulx metro station on the corner of Greene & St Antoine Ouest in the Westmount/St-Henri area. Street parking is relatively easy to navigate, but most of our staff metro/bus/walk to work!
