Candidates are invited to apply for the position detailed below Extendicare Michener Hill, a continuing care facility located in Red Deer Alberta. This facility is home to 220 Continuing Care beds and 60 Designated Assisted Living Beds.

Reporting

Reporting to: Director of Care

Responsibilities

Ensure resident care is provided within established nursing standards and principles, physicians’ orders and administrative policies

Use the Nursing Process of Assessment, Plan, Implement and Evaluate a resident health and develop individualized resident care plans

Plans, directs, supervises and evaluates the work of the Health Care Aide

Assists in orientating, mentoring and competency development of staff

Demonstrates leadership skills

Graduate of Licensed Practical Nurse Program

Registered in good standing with CLPNA

Caring, compassionate, dependable, ethical and mature

Robust communication skills

Ability to manage stressful situations

Critical thinking skills

Good time management skills to work in fast paced environment

Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Current CPR and First Aide Experience with MDS-RAI assessments
