About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Scientist with expertise in Analytical Development to lead critical projects in Kimberley . This senior role focuses on developing, validating, and implementing robust analytical methods for the characterization and quality control of pharmaceutical products and intermediates. You will work within a highly collaborative R&D; environment, leveraging your deep understanding of analytical chemistry principles to ensure product quality and support regulatory submissions. This position offers a significant prospect to contribute to cutting-edge pharmaceutical development within the scientific community of the Northern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development and validation of analytical methods (e.g., HPLC, GC, spectroscopy) for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing analytical methods to improve performance, efficiency, and robustness.
- Characterize impurities and degradation products, and establish appropriate specifications.
- Author and review method validation reports, analytical procedures, and transfer protocols.
- Provide expert analytical support for formulation development,



process development, and stability studies.
- Mentor junior analytical scientists and contribute to the scientific strategy of the department.

Requirements

- Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in analytical development within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Extensive hands-on experience with a variety of analytical techniques, including HPLC, UPLC, GC, MS, and dissolution testing.
- Strong understanding of ICH guidelines and regulatory requirements for analytical method validation.
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior scientists.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong scientific documentation background.
