HockeyStickMan is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to strengthen the day-to-day discipline and control of our purchasing process. The primary focus of this role is maintaining the integrity of the purchase order lifecycle - ensuring that purchase orders accurately reflect what was ordered, what is still expected, what has been received, and what has changed through to final reconciliation and closure.This is a hands-on role that works closely with Procurement, Receiving, Inventory and Finance. We are looking for someone who understands that creating a PO is only the beginning of the process and who takes ownership of keeping purchasing data accurate, current and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

- Own and maintain purchase orders from creation through vendor confirmation, receipt, reconciliation and closure.
- Create accurate POs in the ERP and ensure pricing, quantities, terms, locations and supporting documentation are correct.
- Monitor open POs, expected delivery dates, partial shipments, backorders, cancellations and overdue orders.
- Follow up with suppliers and internal teams to keep PO status and expected receipt information current.
- Work closely with Receiving to investigate shortages, overages, substitutions and other receiving discrepancies.
- Partner with Finance/AP to resolve PO, item receipt and vendor bill mismatches and reduce downstream cleanup.
- Review and resolve stale or incomplete POs so that open-order data accurately represents outstanding commitments.
- Help establish and document consistent purchasing processes, controls and accountability across the business.
- Support supplier communication, purchasing documentation and vendor record accuracy.
- Managing transfer orders to retail locations
- Providing hands-on operational support as needed to assist with catch-up
- Where experience allows,



support replenishment purchasing by reviewing reorder points, stock levels, lead times and purchasing requirements and creating POs accordingly.

What We Are Looking For

- 2+ years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, inventory control, supply chain or a similar setting, with meaningful hands-on PO experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of the full PO lifecycle, including creation, open-order management, receiving discrepancies and reconciliation.
- Strong attention to detail and a desire to keep ERP data accurate and complete.
- Comfort investigating discrepancies and following issues through to resolution rather than simply identifying them.
- Strong Excel skills and experience working in an ERP system; NetSuite experience is a strong asset.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with vendors, warehouse/receiving teams and Finance.
- Experience with retail, wholesale, distribution or e-commerce inventory is an asset.
- Experience using reorder points, inventory levels, sales history or lead times to support replenishment purchasing is an asset.

What Success Looks Like

- Open POs are current, accurate and trusted by Procurement, Inventory, Operations and Finance.
- Receiving and invoice discrepancies are identified quickly, assigned clearly and resolved promptly.
- Finance spends less time investigating historical purchasing transactions and correcting preventable issues.
- The ERP provides reliable visibility into what has been ordered, received and remains outstanding.
- Purchasing processes become more consistent, documented and scalable as HockeyStickMan grows.
