Role Description The Real Estate Lawyer will handle residential real estate transactions from file opening to closing, including purchase, sale, and refinance matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing agreements of purchase and sale, conducting title and due diligence searches, preparing and reviewing closing documents, and advising clients on legal rights, risks, and obligations. The role involves communicating regularly with clients, other lawyers, lenders, mortgage brokers, and real estate agents, resolving issues that arise during the transaction, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and Law Society requirements.

The lawyer will use ProClosr’s digital platforms to manage files efficiently, maintain accurate documentation,



and support a secure and transparent closing process. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Markham, ON.

Qualifications

- Licensed to practice law in Ontario, in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario, with experience in residential real estate transactions.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario real estate law, title and off-title searching, mortgages, and standard closing procedures.
- Proficiency with digital document management, e-signature tools, and legal practice management software.
- Excellent client-facing skills, including clear communication, active listening, and the ability to explain complex legal concepts in accessible language.
- Detail-oriented approach to drafting, reviewing, and organizing legal documents, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a rapid-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to work closely with internal team members and external partners to support a smooth closing experience.
- Previous experience with high-volume or technology-enabled real estate practice is an asset.
- Other assets (good to have, but not necessary): dual license in another province; additional language skills.
