Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) is currentlyseeking Registered Nurses for a variety of full‑time, part‑time,and temporary positions.

We offer an expansive range of specialist services, and aredesignated as an academic health sciences centre. As a teaching hospital, we are proudly affiliated with LakeheadUniversity and Confederation College and are a host training facility for students from theNorthern Ontario School of Medicine, as well as other medical schools. We are one of the largest employers in Thunder Bay with over 3,500staff, 500 volunteers and 100 Patient Family Advisors.

- Regional Northwest Renal Program Note: Vacancies will vary throughout the year across all programs.

Community Commitment

Program for Nurses TBRHSC is an approved participant in the Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN) offered through Health Force Ontario. The CCPN provides a $25,000 incentive grantto eligible nurses in exchange for a 24‑month commitment to an eligibleemployer.



Nurses may also be eligible for two new Northern incentives fornurses who make a two‑year commitment to an eligible employer in Northern Ontario.These are:

- A Northern Top‑Up Grant of $10,000, paid in $5,000instalments after four (4) and eight (8) months of employment with an eligible employer; and
- A Northern Relocation Grant of $10,000, paid in $5,000instalments upon confirmation that an eligible nurse has started employment and after four (4)months of employment with an eligible employer.
- Not have been employed as a nurse in Ontario in the six monthsprior to being hired;
- Hold a Certificate of Registration in good standing from theCollege of Nurses of Ontario;
- Begin employment no later than March 31, 2025;
- Commit to two‑years of employment at a full‑timework schedule offered by the employer; and
- Not simultaneously receive funds from the Ministry of Health forthe Tuition Support Program for Nurses. Any nurse may apply for this position, however only candidatesthat meet the criteria outlined above are eligible for the CCPN funding.

Other Qualifications

- Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with theCollege of Nurses of Ontario, or the ability to become licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current certification in BCLS
- Recent knowledge in Surgical Nursing with experience caring forpre and postoperative surgical patients with TPN, Neuraxial Analgesia, PatientControlled Analgesia, Sequential compression device
- Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning,implementation, evaluation) in conjunction with her/his basic and ongoingknowledge to arrive at individualized care planning and delivery
- Collaborates and provides consult to Registered Practice Nurse'swhen patients assigned to the RPN become unstable or have outcomes that are notas expected
- Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responsesand take appropriate action




- Ability to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventions
- Strong interprofessional and communication skills
