About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Farm Sustainability Officer to guide and support agricultural producers near Kimberley, Northern Cape in adopting environmentally responsible and economically viable farming practices. This role is vital in promoting sustainable land management, water conservation, biodiversity, and reduced environmental impact across farming operations. You will work closely with farmers via digital platforms, offering expertise and developing tailored sustainability plans. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate environmental professional to contribute to a more sustainable agricultural future from a fully remote position.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement sustainability strategies and action plans for individual farms, focusing on environmental, social, and economic aspects.
- Advise farmers on best practices for soil health, water management, waste reduction, and energy efficiency.
- Monitor and assess the environmental impact of farming operations and ensure compliance with sustainability standards and regulations.
- Conduct virtual site assessments and provide recommendations for improving biodiversity and ecosystem health on farms.




- Educate and train farmers on sustainable agriculture principles and techniques through online platforms.
- Track and report on key sustainability metrics and progress towards environmental goals.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in farm sustainability, environmental management, or agricultural consulting.
- Solid understanding of sustainable farming principles, conservation practices, and environmental regulations.
- Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting for environmental performance.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and remote engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements effectively from a remote location .
