This position involves providing psychological services throughout the Public Schools Branch as members of the Student Services Team. The School Psychologist works in collaboration with the Student Services Team. The primary focus of this role will be administering psycho educational assessment, however, duties are subject to expanding to include a full School Psychologist scope of practice

Duties may include but are not limited to:

- Consultation with school personnel on referrals of children for behavioural, social, emotional and academic difficulties;

- Psycho educational assessment of students;





- Maintaining liaison with families and with outside agencies providing auxiliary services; crisis intervention support; threat assessment support;

- Assisting in the development of educational plans for individuals and groups; individual/group support; providing career development for school personnel;

- Supporting other district wide projects;

- Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Masters or Doctorate in School Psychology. A Doctorate in Clinical Psychology may also be considered;

- Applicants must be registered or eligible to be registered with the P.E.I. Psychologist Registration Board;

- Wide range of experience in facilitating change at a school, class and individual level;

- Experience administering psycho educational assessments is required, (applicants will be asked to submit a sample of a recent report);

- Must have a valid driver license and be willing to travel.

The following would be considered assets:

- Experience in an education or clinical setting;

- French language skills;

- Bachelor of Education degree;

- Experience and training working with school aged children and youth.
