Our client, a large Canadian retailer, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team on a 4-month contract assignment. This is a hybrid position, with 4 days per week onsite and 1 day remotely at the client's offices in Toronto. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the accounting team with financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end activities, and other accounting functions as required.

Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in compliance with IFRS. Analyze significant variances, business trends, and key performance indicators and communicate findings to management. Support the month-end and quarter-end close processes, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting analysis.

Identify financial reporting risks and proactively recommend solutions. Provide expert accounting guidance related to the capitalization and ongoing accounting for internally developed and acquired intangible assets. Provide coaching, guidance, and technical support to financial analysts and cross-functional partners.

Build strong relationships across the organization and foster a collaborative,



high-performing team environment. Requirements

University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. CPA designation (or equivalent skilled accounting qualification) is required. Minimum 4+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting or a large, complex corporate environment. Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting requirements. Proven ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across multiple functions.
