Abacus & Field LLP is a CPA accounting firm in High River, Alberta built on forging positive relationships with our clients and community. We rely on our staff to empower our clients to take control of their finances by building their financial literacy, advising them on tax planning and financial matters, encouraging them to ask questions, and taking care of their general accounting needs.

We are seeking a professional, detail-oriented Senior Accounting Technician to join our team with at least two years of recent experience in a public accounting office preparing both working papers and corporate and personal tax returns.

Employment Type: Full-time

Hybrid work model – In-office and work from home.

Starting Salary: $50,000 – $80,000 based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare compilation and review engagement working papers and financial information statements.
- Prepare Canadian corporate and personal income tax returns.
- Prepare T4, T5, T4A, T5018, GST, and other compliance returns.
- Maintain general ledgers, reconcile accounts, and post journal entries.
- Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll.
- Make adjustments using the client's accounting software, including posting to general ledgers, reconciling accounts, and reviewing reports.
- Collaborate with peers and partners on file planning completion, ensuring that time requirements are met.
- Provide personal,



attentive service to clients that encourages productive working relationships.

Required Skills/Experience:

- Experience and proficiency in CaseWare Working Papers and Microsoft Excel.
- At least four years of bookkeeping experience.
- Experience in preparing compilation engagements.
- At least two years of experience preparing corporate tax returns.
- At least two years of experience preparing personal tax returns.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Experience with CaseWare Cloud not required but considered an asset.
